It is beleived that the first church stood on this site since c950. Some beleive that parts of the present tower date from Norman times c1100. It is known that charcel arch and tower date back to at least c1200/1300. The chancel being rebuild in 1875. The font is made from Purbeck Marble and dates from c1200/1300.
