Bournemouth is blessed by having two of the countires most impressive church within walking distance of each other and the town centre. St Peter's is the older of the two and is most visited due to its closer to the town centre. Its also on the tourist trail for Frankistien fans for it is here that Mary Shelley, the author of the Frankisten books is buried. Lewis Tregonwell, the founder of Bournemouth is also buried here. I visted one Saturday morning when they had a coffee morning on and so couldn't really photograph the inside of the church.

The church was built between 1844 and 1879 by the architect G.E Street. The spire was added at a later date and is 202ft high.
